Water (Nero) The water on Crete is not too bad and is fine for washing or brushing your teeth , however it has a heavy lime contact and can cause stomach problems. The Pharmacies in Crete are very well stocked with everything you would find in Europe however things will almost certainly have different names. Most pharmacists in tourist areas will speak passable English and it is possible to get by with that and sign language but for more serious conditions it is advisable to take enough medication for your stay with you.
