Mires

Mires ist mit seiner Einwohnerzahl um die 5500 die Hauptstadt des Aussenbezirkes Heraklion. Es liegt etwa 50 km südwestlich von der Stadt Heraklion und 18 km bevor Matala. Nachdem die Stadt relativ neu ist, gibt es kaum historische Sehenswürdigkeiten. Der Markt allerdings, welcher jeden Samstag von 9 bis 14 Uhr stattfindet, ist Anziehungspunkt vieler Besucher. Weiterhin finden die hier:
Post, Polizei, Krankenhaus, Apotheken und Banken.

Mires

Mires has a population of approx 5,500 and is the municipal town of Iraklion. It is located 50km south of Iraklion and 18km from Matala. The town is mainly modern and you will find few of the old relics from the past here. One event which attracts visitors from the neighbouring villages is the Market which takes place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. You will find all the necessary amenities here, such as a post office, police station. Hospital, Pharmacies and the major banks.
