Located in the village Matala, on a hill with magnificent view towards the cliff caves, the sea, the beach and the village. It's position is high enough to prevent anything from the wonderful view, but also close enough to the beach, taverns and shops, which are right next door.
Built on a ruined old but beautiful house of love and peace we gave it the breath of life again with the renovation. The old house was rented in the Hippie era and the 80 to the flower power children from all around the world.
We still habe the old notebooks with the names of them, they are a valuable archive that complements the history of the area.
The house is named Red Beach because it is built right onto the path that leads to the Red Beach and is the last house coming up from Matala, so the traveler passes directly in front of the door, when they are climbing up the hill. Furthermore, the house has taken the name after all the small wooden signs, with the name of the beautiful beach ...
Outside it has two large terraces and a balcony, all overlooking the beach, sea and the village Matala. For the morning and afternoon the terrace on the ground floor ist perfect, it is facing north towards the sea and the rock caves. In the afternoon the large terrace on the first floor with enchanting views of the sea and east of the hill and the path to the Red Beach.
When the lights illuminate the village and cliff caves and darkness falls, you think you can touch heaven. But late at night with gentle music and a glass of red wine, the small pendant balcony looks dreamy world and the soul calms ...
The inside of the house has personality and offers an easy and comfortable life. Entering from the main door we are in the big room with sofa, coffee table with plasma TV, small round wood stove and the old chest with small woods.
Right is a modern kitchen that is fully equipped to meet the needs of groups. The picture is completed with the restored wooden round table and chairs, beautiful furniture of a more old-fashioned.
The kitchen area is dominated by the large glass door leading to the terrace and opens the view to the horizon. The terrace that morning and afternoon shade is equipped with a large wooden table for romantic meals by the sea.
To the left of the kitchen is the bathroom with a large granite countertop sink, large mirror, wooden cabinets with storage space and washing machine, toilet and shower with translucent cabin. The color dominates here is the beige for the sand and orange for the horizon at sunset.
Left at the entrance is the first bedroom with two single beds, which have each another bed hidden under, in case of very big company, utility wooden table and a very large closet. The window overlooks the sea and complements sea style with soft colors.
In the main room an iron staircase with wooden steps and handrail alleging irons that mimic the motion of the waves leads to the upper bedroom.
The upstairs bedroom overlooks the whole house. It includes a large iron bed facing pendant balcony, sea and caves. East, another door leads to the large terrace on the first floor.
Between these apertures there is a window that is in front of a small desk and an old chair that aspires with the magical views to inspire those who love writing. A small library, a new acoustic guitar and a stereo with quality Greek and foreign music nicely complement the space. All rooms have ceiling fans that cool the house naturally, but simultaneously coexist conditioners in both bedrooms.
