Where is the best beach in southern Crete?
There are so many beautiful places by the sea, and that is precisely what makes the region so great – enjoy a morning swim in the small bay Agios Pavlos, come for an afternoon walk to Afrtahias beach und enjoy later the sunset at Komos or Red Beach – you are spoiled for choice every day. Here is my list of beaches from Preveli in the west to the Koudouma monastery in the east, which I like to visit. Most of them are easy to get to and take a maximum of 2 hours, but some can only be visited by 4×4, on foot, or by boat.
