Where is the best beach in southern Crete? It’s hard for me to tell!
There are so many beautiful places by the sea, and that is precisely what makes the region so great – enjoy a morning swim in the small bay Agios Pavlos, come for an afternoon walk to Afrtahias beach und enjoy later the sunset at Komos or Red Beach – you are spoiled for choice every day.
Here is my list of beaches from Preveli in the west to the Koudouma monastery in the east, which I like to visit. Most of them are easy to get to and take a maximum of 2 hours, but some can only be visited by 4×4, on foot, or by boat.
