Galatia Apartments

The Galatia Apartments are a small paradise, close to the unique Minoan Archaelogical excavations of Phaistos. Enjoy the tranquility of rural Crete in the village of Agios Ioannis and be same time in the center of the messara.

2 lovely and quality furnished 70 sqm apartments with big living area, well-equipped kitchen with ceramic hob and hood, fridge with freezer compartment, coffee machine, TV, DVD player. 
The apartments also have a bathroom with shower and toilet, a washing machine and 2 bedrooms with twin beds. 
From the communal roof terrace of the house you have a magnificent panoramic view over the Messara plain, the Asteroussa mountains and the palace grounds of Phaistos. To the north you see the snowy peaks of the Ida mountains with the Psiloritis.

They are also very suitable for families with children as they are surrounded by fields with gnarly old olive trees – ideal for playing and romping!
The owner Manolis Hadzidakis, a passionate gardner, supplies his guests with fruit and vegetables from his own cultivation and every now and again his mother, Maria, comes by with fresh eggs.

Plan your trips, have a glass of wine while you relax at your terrace and watch the psiloritis mountains. Agios Ioannis is a perfect base, if you want to explore this area, its wonderful beaches, the culture of the minoan and the romans - the area of the messara offers it all! Agios Ioannis, on the sunny south coast of Crete, lends itself for excursions to both the east and the west side of the island. Buses run between the surrounding towns, villages and tourist features. The whole area is unique as far as culture and scenery are concerned and offers countless recreational activities ranging from relaxing on fantastic beaches, hiking on trails to the surrounding little villages to exploring ancient excavation sites and cloisters.

There are plenty of discos and bars in Kalamaki and Matala to satisfy the needs of the night birds! Kalamaki, with its beautiful sandy beaches and promenade with several little tavernas, is about 5 Km away. About 8 Km away there is the glorious long stretch of Comos beach. Another 4 Km further along the coast are the caves of Matala. In the neighbouring village of Kamilari (2 Km away) there is a supermarket with a butcher s shop.
